PRIVACY REQUIREMENTS

You create a COXEN account to use this website. During account creation you are asked to give contact information (name, affiliation) and required to provide an email address. We use this information to notify you about the status of the COXEN analyses you initiate. We will not share your contact information with anyone else or use it to send information to you about anything not directly related to COXEN.

Do not send personally identifiable information to us about the individuals whose genomic profiling data you send, either when you upload your CEL files to our server or in any other communications to us. The COXEN website is not intended to receive information that would be considered "identifiable private information" (e.g., name, medical record number, dates of treatment, etc.) under the federal Common Rule governing research on human subjects, or "individually identifiable health information" under the HIPAA privacy and security rules. See the HIPAA IDENTIFIER LIST for a list of the 18 identifiers that make health information "individually identifiable."

We store your account information, files that you upload, and result files for analyses that you initiate in our database and on our file system. This information is linked to the email address you provide so that we may provide you with results of your analyses. We do not share your account information, your data files, or your result files with other third parties. We do aggregate and analyze log file and database information to determine how the COXEN software is being used in order to enhance its performance and functionality, including examining analysis results. We will not tie your contact information to such analyses.
